The
Gargoyle in its own right is an excellent Harness/container
for tracking and wingsuit BASE. With more people getting
into wingsuit BASE and with the advancements of the
wingsuits themselves, we wanted to create a container
that when combined with a wingsuit, would help with
the aerodynamics of forward flight.
With help and feedback from Robert Pecnik of Phoenix-Fly,
we have come up with what we believe to be an excellent
design. This highly contoured container offers improved
airflow, maximizing the pilot's capabilities for reaching
their ultimate forward speed.
The ws X-treme features the same all speed tested
pin protection that the standard Gargoyle features
and has been tested from slider-down go and throws
to head down skydives.
Standard Features:
- Dynamic Corners.
- Split leg straps and superior padding in the leg
pads: reducing the discomfort of opening shock with
adding extra bulk.
- Streamlined tuck tab riser covers.
- Floorplate for top flap closing loop. (Like on
most reserves)
- Standard top flap closing loop.
- Complete bridle protection pocket
- Inner BOC Bridle Storage Pocket (for use when
utilizing the Wingsuit B.A.S.E. pilot chute pouch)
- Bottom of container deployment pouch.
- Twenty-eight custom colors to choose from.
- Big Grab Toggles.
- ParaPack Fabric as Standard.
- Hook Knife.
Options:
- L-Bars. (No additional Charge)
- Lower articulated harness. (hip rings)
- Stainless Steel hardware. (now available with
large rings)
- Double Pin stripes.
- B-12 leg strap hardware (now available with hip
rings)
- Cordura Fabric. (No additional charge)
- 3-rings
- Reverse Risers available upon request (Large rings
only)
The highest drag area that a wingsuit and body creates
when combined, is around the rib cage. This area equates
to the upper 1/3 of the container. Some of the new,
drag reducing features include continuous riser covers
that offer a seamless contour around the yoke. There
is no 3-ring system. Integrity risers are standard
or the rig can be purchased with optional L-Bars.
We have placed a floor plate inside of the upper portion
of the container to house the top closing loop. This
helps to reduce the bulk of the canopy in this area,
thus reducing turbulence when the air is flowing over
the top of the rig.
The top flap is also capable of housing a standard
closing loop if the floor plate option is not desired
for a particular jump. The bottom of the container
is tapered at 45 degrees to allow the continuation
of the airflow from the container back over the body
again with the least amount of disturbance. The ws
X-treme is manufactured with Dynamic Corners as standard.
The BOC pouch is equipped with a small tuck pocket
inside to house the excess bridle that is necessary
when utilizing the WingSuit BASE pilot chute pouch.
This container also comes standard in ParaPack as
it is a slicker fabric and for those who are trying
to eek out every bit of forward speed possible, every
M.P.H. counts! The container can be ordered with an
articulated harness. The preferred articulation for
the ws X-treme features a ring at the lateral/main
lift web/leg strap assembly. We have found this juncture
to work best with the design of a wingsuit. It allows
for maximum harness flexibility without putting any
tension on the suit's harness entry and exit points.
By focusing on some key areas when designing this
container, we feel that when used in conjunction with
the wingsuits that are being flown today, the ws X-treme
highly compliments the pursuit of extreme B.A.S.E.
wingsuit flight.
Don't let your rig be a drag!
