Big Grab
Toggles
The Big Grab is lightly stiffened with Lolon
coated cable to give it a loop shape. This
makes it easy to grab upon deployment. Both
toggle styles come standard in fluorescent
orange to make them easy to see in all light
conditions
HPBG Toggles
We don't really advocate the use of HPBG’s
in most situations. There are certain applications
in which an experienced jumper may utilize
this option. (Pulling high and far away from
an object)
Regarding the functionality of the toggle… It
is a one handed operation.
To utilize the line release mod, obviously,
you must first determine that you CLEARLY have
a brake line-over. If this is the situation,
you would reach up on the appropriate side
and pull down on the guide ring that is at
the base of the toggle. This releases a pin
that retains the brakeline to the toggle. Keeping
that same grip on the ring, you then pull away
from the riser and this in turn peels the toggle
from the Velcro and releases the brakeline
cat's eye from the cloth stub of the toggle.
This allows the brakeline to fly away whilst
the person retains the toggle in their hand.
Of course keeping track of a toggle in a high
stress situation would be the least of my worries.
One advantage of this design in our opinion
is the fact that the ring is at the base of
the toggle. Therefore, if a person chooses
to pop the brakes and attempt to clear the
line over by pumping the brakes or just get
general control of the canopy, they still have
the option of releasing the brakeline with
ease as it is still assessable once the toggle
is in the hand.
